Spy Glass for Your Papers

The bleepin' document scanner is an OnSong Premium feature that lets you use your device's camera to import songs into your OnSong library. Y'all just line up the camera with pages on a table or music stand. The scanner finds rectangles that look like paper & snaps the shot. It automatically perspective corrects your pages (because apparently we don't trust you to hold it straight).

Stuff You Gotta Have First

The document scanner is available in OnSong 2020.0 & requires iOS/iPadOS 13 or higher because our developers went full nerd mode with computer vision. You'll also need OnSong Premium to use this fancy feature (sorry, not sorry).

If you don't see this in your Add Songs Menu, tap on the + button to add it to your customized import sources (we hid it on purpose).

Snappin' Those Pages

The document scanner takes over your entire screen to use your camera in augmented reality to capture pages (don't worry, it's dramatic but in a good way).

Tweak It Real Good

You can make adjustments in the camera to handle changes in the environment. For instance, if you're on a dimly lit stage (classic), turn on the flash button to enable the rear flashlight to illuminate the paper so you don't end up with a potato pic.

Check Yo' Work

Use the menubar that appears at the bottom of the screen with your scanned pages to make adjustments to each page, ditch the bad scans, reorder pages, & finally import the document into your library (quality control is your job).

Drop It In There

Once you're satisfied with your scanned document, tap on the Save button in the right corner to import the document as a PDF file into your library (& pretend you scanned it perfectly).
