The Foot Pedal Settings Hamburger

OMG, you wanna tweak how your foot pedals boss around OnSong? Say no more, fam. Here's where the magic (or chaos) happens.

Scroll Behavior

So you're pressin' that pedal & wanna scroll? Cool. Cool cool cool. Here's what can actually happen:

  • Scroll Page yeets the screen down a buncha percentage points. Like, 75% by default, but hey, you can fiddle with the slider if you're feelin' spicy.
  • Jump to Section bounces you through the song's sections & actually brings 'em into view so you don't gotta squint like a mole. Totes handy.
  • Jump to Page is for when you're flexin' with PDFs or those text-based chord chart thingies that have page breaks. Shoots you to the top of each page. If your song isn't paged, it just does the Scroll Page thing instead. (Srsly, we tried to be fancy.)
  • Jump to Song is like, "Nah, forget scrollin' the song—let's just yeet to the next one in your set instead."

Scroll Amount

When you're usin' Scroll Page, OnSong slides the page down by whatever percentage you want. Knock yourself out between 25% & 100%. We defaulted to 75% so there's some bleed-through & you don't feel like you're losin' your mind.

Scroll Speed

Animation keeps you from havin' a total existential crisis while things move. Tweak it from zero seconds (rip it off like a band-aid) to three whole seconds. Default's 0.5 'cause we're not monsters.

Triggers

Wanna be a one-pedal wizzzard? Triggers let you automate your whole vibe. Triggers do stuff when stuff happens & mean one foot smash can do like five things. Peep:

  • Forward Pedal fires off an action the first time you scroll down from a foot pedal. Like, play an audio track on the first press, then scroll after. (We're basically playin' 4D chess here.)
  • Start Set does a thing when you scroll up while you're at the top of your very first song. Dramatic, we know.
  • End Set does a thing when you scroll down at the bottom of your last song. It's like a mic drop but digital.

Options

Toggle these bad boys on & off like the control freak you are.

  • Half Page Scrolling is for when your pedal's set to Jump to Page & you're all sideways on your device. Landscape mode can be sneaky & hide stuff, so half page scrollin' lets you creep through a page halfway at a time. Comes in on, off, or automatic (which basically means "figure it out yourself, iPad"). Default's automatic 'cause we're nice.
  • Section Navigation can be switched off if you don't want lyrics projection gettin' all bossy & auto-switchin' to Jump To Section. Control the narrative, bestie.
  • Set Navigation kills the ability to bounce between songs when you're footin' around. By default, once you hit the top or bottom of your chord chart, scroll up & down take you to the previous or next song. Disable this & you gotta swipe like a normie. Your choice, rockstar.
  • Show Bumpers controls how long those little notifications stick around to tell you "hey, next press = next song!" Pick 1–5 seconds, infinite (bumper stays put til you press again), or off. Default's on 'cause FOMO is real.
  • Show Icon in Menubar Toggles whether the Foot Pedal Setup icon shows up in the Menubar. Turn it off & it vanishes like your motivation on a Monday. Default's on.
